The Malaysian women’s soccer team began the day with promise. However, what started off as cheerful optimism steadily degenerated, as the match was reduced to a wilful beating. The Malaysians eventually lost 0-7 to the Singaporeans.
The first goal came in barely five
minutes into the first half, with another three added before half
time. The Singaporeans chalked up a further three goals in the second
half, of which two were scored in added time.
Although the Malaysians had a torrid time in the first half, they managed to pull together and mount a credible challenge in the second half. Unfortunately, time was not on their side and all that was left was for them to simply have a good time.
