The Malaysian Judiciary introduced the e-Appellate system in the Federal Court of Malaysia and the Court of Appeal in August 2020.
Under the e-Appellate system, the court and parties must refer to only digital copies of documents during submissions. As such, no physical copies of documents will be used.
In order to support Members who need assistance with the technology-related aspects of e-Appellate proceedings, the Bar Council maintains a Tech Aid Directory that contains information regarding Members who are IT-savvy and are willing to assist fellow Members, on the basis of terms to be agreed upon by both parties. The services provided may include, but are not limited to, helping to operate the relevant portable electronic device in court while the Member being assisted focuses on the submissions.
Please click here to view the content of the Tech Aid Directory, which is categorised by state.
The Bar Council’s role is limited to producing the Tech Aid Directory and making it available to Members of the Bar. The Bar Council is not in a position to vouch for the competence or suitability of any Member listed in the Tech Aid Directory. The Bar Council will not be responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from reliance by any party on the Tech Aid Directory.
If you are interested in engaging any Member listed in the Tech Aid Directory, please contact that Member directly.
