KUALA LUMPUR, Tues: Young lawyer representatives from Singapore and
Indonesia visited the new Kuala Lumpur Court Complex and the Bar Council
building. These delegates were here to attend the 14th Malaysian Law Conference
and in particular, would be participating in the South East Asian Young Lawyers
Convention session.
Two lawyers from Singapore and one from Indonesia were brought on a guided tour
to learn more of legal practice here in Malaysia.
The first stop of the tour was the new Kuala Lumpur Court Complex on Jalan Duta.
It was explained to our visitors that the Court was the second largest in the
world and our guests had a chance to walk through the various levels and to
stand in the public gallery of one of the court rooms. The tour would not have
been complete without a quick pit-stop at the Court cafeteria.
Our guests were then brought to the Bar Council building where in true Malaysian
fashion, more food and drinks were served. We continued to explore the Bar
Council, where we were introduced to the Council library and the other sections
of the building.
Our guests were then brought to Bar Savanh on the Asian Heritage Row to join in
the After Party, organised by the National Young Lawyers Committee. Cycle &
Carriage had graciously agreed to support this event. We continued to mingle
with the other conference delegates while enjoying the music, food and drinks.
