Motions for EGM of the Malaysian Bar (12 December 2009)

To All Members of the Malaysian Bar and Pupils in Chambers.

Please be reminded that, pursuant to Section 65(1) of the Legal Profession Act 1976 (LPA), the Bar Council will convene an Extraordinary General Meeting (“EGM”) of the Malaysian Bar.

The EGM will be held on Saturday, 12 December 2009 at 10:00am at Dewan San Choon, Level 2, Wisma MCA, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

If you are a registered user of the Malaysian Bar website, please click here to view the three motions that have been proposed for consideration at the EGM.

In accordance with Section 65(4A) of the LPA, the quorum shall be 500 Members of the Malaysian Bar. We look forward to your presence at this Extraordinary General Meeting.

Note:

1.		Members are kindly requested to make every effort to attend the meeting punctually to ensure a quorum of 500.
2.		Registration Counters will open from 8:30am. Light refreshments will be served.
3.		Pupils may attend but shall not vote and should be seated only at the area(s) designated for pupils.
4.		All Members shall, upon registering their names, wear the designated stickers for purposes of admission.
5.		The venue is located close to the Ampang Park Putra LRT Station and Members are encouraged to use public transportation, as parking spaces may be limited.
6.		Corus Hotel, located opposite Wisma MCA, is offering rooms at special rates to Malaysian Bar Members attending the EGM. A Deluxe Single room (with internet access and breakfast) will cost RM287.50 nett per night. Please call Joyce Wong at 03-21618888 or email reservations@corushotelkl.com to make a reservation.
