GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will direct his chief-of-staff Ooi Chuan Aun to explain why he had called former members of Pertubuhan Bunga Tanjung (PBT) "desperate housewives" on his blog.

Lim said he would not respond to former PBT president Puan Sri Chui Kah Peng over the remarks as they were not made by him.

"I will ask Ooi to explain in person to Chui on his remarks (posted on his blog) when he returns from Vietnam."

Lim was commenting on Chui's 48-hour ultimatum to him and Ooi for an open debate over PBT affairs.

Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony of the 40 assemblymen at the state legislative assembly, Lim said he was more interested in having former PBT adviser Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon clarify the alleged breach of law following the dissolution of the association by its members on March 9.

He had on Thursday asked Koh, who is former chief minister, to "stop hiding behind his wife's skirt" and to tell all in regard to the PBT issue.
