Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman MCA angry over MP’s statement

KUALA LUMPUR (July 3, 2008) : Three groups have condemned Pasir Salak MP Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman for labelling non-Malays in the country as immigrants in his debate in the Dewan Rakyat on the 9th Malaysia Plan mid-term review on Tuesday.

MCA Youth secretary-general Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said today the party’s legal bureau is studying the matter and will write to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak as the Chief Whip, recommending that action be taken against Tajuddin.

"His statement contained racist elements. It had more or less hurt the feelings of the Chinese community and other non-Malays.

"Our legal bureau will look into this for the sake of preserving the solidarity within BN.

"We are all Malaysian citizens and must observe national unity. This does not have any good and could also be damaging and provoke reaction," he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby.

The press conference was also attended by representatives from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth and the Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds Youths Association which protested Tajuddin's comments.

Wee said if no action is taken against Tajuddin, they plan to lodge a police report.

Pre-Merdeka Mentality
written by Tan Pean Khoon, Friday, July 04 2008 09:05 am

To those who still have the mentality of pre-independence, I have this to say to them "GO TO HELL".

We are facing a national crisis, be it in political or economy. All Malaysian must come together to fight against current crisis and not internal fighting.

I find it hard that at this moment, we still have MP that calling for racial hatret. Damn you. (sorry for the languange)

All other MPs should condemn this behaviour otherwise you are endorsing his statement.

We will see what happen next.

Racist mentality should be punished !

I just wonder why there is no police report lodged against the said MP at the first instance as the statement may tantamount to sedition or may cause racial tension and may also cause public disorder in Malaysia etc.

How come there is no indication of the application of ISA or any other related Act against him?

Double standard on certain people for the application of laws in Malaysia?
