KUALA LUMPUR: A student is suing a constable for allegedly raping and
forcing her to perform oral sex in a police station on June 18.
The 17-year-old girl is also suing the Government for alleged negligence in
ensuring her safety in the station.
Her lawyer Gobind Singh Deo said it would be a test case for the court to decide
over safety standards that should be taken at police stations.
“She wants to show that the policeman took advantage of her while she was in
police custody,” he said of the suit which was filed at the High Court civil
registry yesterday.
The girl named Kons Jamil Abdul Sah, 27, who has been suspended from work, the
Putra Heights police station chief and the Government as defendants.
He allegedly committed the offences at the station’s information room between
6am and 7am on June 18.
On July 18, Kons Jamil, from Damansara, claimed trial to both charges at the
Petaling Jaya Sessions Court and was released on a RM15,000 bail in one surety.
The trial was fixed for Oct 22.
It was reported that the teenager and her boyfriend were taken to the station
after he was caught riding a motorcycle without a licence.
In a statement of claim, the girl from Shah Alam said Kons Jamil stopped her in
USJ 23, Subang Jaya, at 6.15am on June 18.
She said that at the station Kons Jamil took her to a room and threatened her.
She said she was scared and complied with his order to remove her clothes.
She added that Kons Jamil freed her after forcing her to perform oral sex and
having sexual intercourse with her.
She claimed that she suffered pain and embarrassment and is seeking damages,
costs and further relief deemed fit by court.
