PN Wong Tan & Partners is sad to announce that Noeline Cheah Lei Lin who had been with the firm as a partner for 8 years, passed away at the age of 49 on 27 July 2009. During her practice in the firm, she focused on civil litigation and conveyancing.
Her legal career began in the office of Messrs V.P. Nathan & Partners where she worked as a legal assistant for three years specializing in civil litigation. She then spent 10 years in several legal firms namely, Messrs Soo Thien Ming & Shahrizat, Chong Harcharan Hashim and Tay & Partners, and served in the civil litigation, conveyancing and banking departments.
The late Noeline Cheah set up her own practice in the name of Noeline Cheah & Partners prior to setting up the Law Office of Cheah Yap & Partners. In the year 2001, PN Wong, Tan & Partners amalgamated with Cheah, Yap & Partners.

She left an indelible mark in her career as a litigation lawyer and earned the utmost respect from fellow members of the Bar. Noeline was an active leader in the Wesley Church and her commitment to her faith had led to involvement in various charities which took her as far as Nepal. Noeline was a competent sportswoman excelling in tennis and on many occasions represented the Bar in netball. Her passion for the performing arts was well complemented by her talent in music and singing, and her talent was showcased in various productions and in musical programmes organized by the church.
Noeline was well loved by her family and friends. Her girlish charms and effervescent personality endeared her to everyone, and more importantly, her generosity and kindness filled the hearts of many.
Noeline is survived by her parents and her sister’s family. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
