Our beloved brother and partner, Harith Fansuri Abdul Rahman, passed away in Singapore on 12 Apr 2010 at a young age of 42, leaving behind a close–knit family of a wife and three lovely school–going children.
Beginning 1992, he was a legal assistant with Messrs Hassan Ibrahim & Co, prior to becoming our partner at Messrs Zamri Ibrahim & Co from 2001, in charge of our Johor Baru office. We have known him since our university days in 1987 and he remained the same intelligent, hardworking and jovial person with an obvious zest for life. Many of his stories ended with us in big laughter.
He had worked very hard on his own to build up his reputation as a highly–respected litigation lawyer. His vast experience and intelligence were reflected in the high success rate of the cases that he handled and were well–known among his clients. To him it was all hands–on and nothing less than a personal service. A focused individual, he would deliver what he promised, all up to his clients’ satisfaction. These are the qualities and commitments that made him one of the best lawyers around.

Knowing him, he would have made the whole thing into a big joke, had he survived. We were waiting and hoping but it did not happen that way. We rushed to visit him at the Johor Specialist Centre upon hearing that he was critically ill. Heavily sedated and on a life–support machine, yet he tried to raise his head to acknowledge us. We went home thinking he would pull through, like he always did. We could not describe our shock and sadness upon hearing of his death two days later. It was like a bad dream, in fact the reality has not really sunk in yet. Nevertheless, a part of us is gone forever.
Dearest Harith, the many memories of you will linger on eternally. May Allah bless your soul, brother. For the family that he had left behind, we know no words can describe the bereavement that they are going through; we only pray that they be strong during this difficult time.
Al–Fatihah.
Deeply missed by Zamri Ibrahim and Mohd Hanif Abd Rahman.
