KUALA LUMPUR, Wed: The Bar Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Corrinne Wong as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Bar Council Secretariat following the resignation of Kenneth Goh as the Acting Chief Executive Officer with effect today.
Prior to her promotion, Corrinne was the Risk Manager and PII Scheme and Finance and Admin Director.
The Bar records our deepest gratitude to Kenneth for his
contribution to the Council.
Corrinne has been with the Secretariat since January 2005. She is a law degree holder with more than 10 years of corporate and commercial experience specifically in the banking industry. She brings with her a vast knowledge of expertise in risk management, insurance, banking law, loan recovery, branch operations and training.
Since then, she has developed and
implemented risk management framework for the largest profession in Malaysia –
the Malaysian Bar. Her contributions included creating awareness and education
for lawyers about risk management and the professional indemnity insurance. She
was briefly the Director of Finance & Admin at the Secretariat), during which
she strategised the increase in Bar Council souvenir sales and implemented a new
appraisal system for Secretariat staff.
The Council has also revised the Management structure of the Secretariat with
the creation of two additional roles – Directors and Assistant Directors to
support Corrinne.
Bearing in mind the structural changes needed to improve the Secretariat, the
two appointed Directors are Cindy Chan (Compliance Division) and Rajen Devaraj
(Practitioners Affairs).
Six Assistant Directors have been appointed with roles supporting both the Directors and CEO respectively. They are Lee Kim Chuan (Compliance Division), Vinodhini Samuels (Practitioners Affairs), Marianna Tan (Practitioners Affairs), Lily Aw (Finance), Rebecca Anthony (Human Resource) and Rohani Adnan (Communication & Membership Interests).
