On 25 Sept 2018, a total of 64 participants attended a training session co–organised by the Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee (“CPC”) and Pejabat Pengarah Tanah dan Galian Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (Federal Territories Director of Lands and Mines Office Kuala Lumpur, “PPTG WPKL”), on Modul Awam Pendaftaran (“Module”).
The Module was first launched on 3 Sept 2018 as part of PPTG WPKL’s plan to have a fully online system as regards conveyancing transactions. This training session was geared towards helping the participants understand the features of the e–Tanah system and the preparation of the forms currently available on the portal, namely the withdrawal of private caveat, vesting order by the court, discharge of charge, instrument of transfer, and instrument of charge.
The first speaker was Nor Azura bt Abdul Rahman from Bahagian Pendaftaran PPTG WPKL. She gave a comprehensive overview of the multiple aspects of the e–Tanah system, which included highlighting the various features available on the portal such as the Single Window Search, e–Consent and other features.
The next speaker, Nor Diyana Ismail from Puncak Tegap Sdn Bhd (“PTSB”), then proceeded with a tutorial session where the participants were given handouts as to a mock scenario involving the preparation of the forms mentioned above. The participants were led through each and every stage of the workflow.
During the tutorial session, various PTSB officers were stationed around the auditorium to provide instantaneous feedback to participants who encountered any issues with the preparation of the forms.
The tutorial session was followed by a 20–minute question–and–answer session which the participants took part in eagerly.
In short, the event was a success and Members are encouraged to keep abreast of the developments in the e–Tanah system to ensure a smooth workflow process.
