JOHOR BARU: The Johor Bar Committee distributed 400 booklets on Police and Your Basic Rights at the City Square shopping mall here on Wednesday.
The public service booklet is the brainchild of a group of lawyers from the Bar Council who came up with the idea after the nude–squat incident involving a woman last November.
About 40 lawyers, calling themselves "Tangkap" (Catch), published the handbook to inform the public of their rights when dealing with the police.
The booklet comes in four languages – English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Tamil.
It can also be downloaded from http://www.malaysianbar.org.my (or here)
