KUALA LUMPUR: Loh Gwo Burne, the man who recorded the Lingam video clip, is back
in town.
He has arrived and is prepared to testify before the Royal
Commission, his lawyer, Alex de Silva, said yesterday.
"He has informed me that he is able and willing to give evidence, but isn't here
today because he is unwell," he said.
Loh, 33, works in Shanghai, China.
In December 2001, he is said to have videotaped a telephone conversation at
prominent lawyer Datuk V.K. Lingam's house without the latter's knowledge.
In the recording, Lingam was allegedly seen discussing
judicial appointments with former chief justice Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul
Halim.
Commission chairman Tan Sri Haidar Mohamed Noor directed de Silva and inquiry
officer Datuk Nordin Hassan to fix a date for Loh to testify.
