KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Bar has welcomed the appointment of Datuk Mohd Zaid
Ibrahim as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department entrusted with the
responsibility of restoring the people's confidence in the judicial system.
Its president, Ambiga Sreenevasan, said the Bar Council was
happy that Mohd Zaid had been appointed to look into judicial reform.
Ambiga also hoped that Zaid, the former Kota Baru member of parliament, would
immediately look into the setting up of a judicial commission, something which
the Bar had been asking for years.
"We look forward to working together with him and we will give him our full co–operation." –– Bernama
