It is with great sadness that we record that Dato' Roy Rajasingham, R, formerly the sole proprietor of Messrs R R Singham in Kuala Lumpur, passed away on 6 July 2026.
Dato' Roy Rajasingham was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1980. He was among the top 2% of the most senior Members of the Malaysian Bar for the past several years.
Dato' Roy Rajasingham served as Vice-President of the Malaysian Bar from 2000 to 2002, and Secretary of the Malaysian Bar from 1999 to 2000. He was a Council member from 1994 to 1995, 1996 to 1998, and 2002 to 2003.
In addition to those positions, he also served in various other capacities, as listed below:
- Chairperson, 50th Anniversary of the Malaysian Bar Celebrations Committee (1997-1998);
- Chairperson, Special Bar Council Building Committee (2000-2002);
- Chairperson, Industrial Court Practice Committee (1997-2004);
- Chairperson, Sports and Social Committee (1995-1996, 1997-1999);
- Chairperson, Ethics Lecture Committee (1999-2000);
- Chairperson, Continuing Legal Education Committee (2001-2002);
- Chairperson, Criminal Law Committee (2001-2002).
The Malaysian Bar extends its heartfelt condolences and sympathies to his family members and loved ones.
The wake is held today from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nirvana 2, 16 Jalan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Bukit Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur.
Funeral rites will be held at the Cheras crematorium tomorrow.
