The 79th Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Bar (“AGM”) was held at Wisma MCA, Kuala Lumpur on 15 Mar 2025.
A brief summary of the AGM follows below.
(1) The Chairman of the AGM, Mohamad Ezri b Abdul Wahab (President of the Malaysian Bar) called the meeting to order at 10:35 am, when the quorum of 500 Members was reached.
(2) The following five resolutions were adopted by the Members, as follows:
- Resolution to Reduce the Building Fund Levy from RM250 to RM100 Per Annum;
- Resolution Regarding the Provision of Legal Research Products from CLJ Legal Network Sdn Bhd, The Digital Library Sdn Bhd, and Thomson Reuters Asia Sdn Bhd;
- Resolution to Increase the Prescribed Fee from RM60 to RM120;
- Resolution to Establish MyBar Games Fund with a Levy of RM10 to Provide Accommodation Subsidies to Members of the Bar and Pupils in Chambers who Participate in the MyBar Games; and
- Resolution on the Judiciary and Malaysian Bar.

A total of 722 Members and 11 pupils in chambers registered their attendance at the AGM, which concluded at 5:19 pm.
At the first Bar Council (“BC”) meeting for the 2025/2026 term held immediately after the AGM, the following Office Bearers of the Malaysian Bar were elected:
- President: Mohamad Ezri b Abdul Wahab
- Vice-President: Anand Raj
- Secretary: Murshidah bt Mustafa; and
- R Jayabalan was appointed as Treasurer.
