Res ipsa loquitur –– the score speaks for itself. The Malaysian Bar won the game against the Law Society of Singapore ("LSS") by an overall match score of 5–0.
This year, LSS fielded their best players. They came well prepared with the coach from China and had intensive training for months. I was a bit nervous looking at the line–up. We missed two regular players who had last–minute emergency matters. Nevertheless, our back–up player and new player managed to deliver a point in the men's double with some nerve–breaking points and suspense.
I am confident that our team will maintain or even play better if all our existing players continue serving the Malaysia Bar Table Tennis Team. This year, we managed to discover another two good women players. It could not have been a better team! We could once again use our famous tag line –– "It is very difficult for us . . . to lose!"
I must express my appreciation to all the players who had dedicated their time and resources to make our team a formidable one.
The Malaysian Bar table tennis team consists of:
(1) Women: Fan Xiao Jun (Former national player); Sheryn Yong (Former national junior); Yap Ching Ching, Alanis (Former state player) and Siow Hui Ting (Former state player); and(2) Men: Wallace Wong (Former national player); Leow Khang Heng (Former national junior); Ng Calvin (Former state junior player); Phua Pao Yii (great supporter); Chong Cheok Hoe, Lim Hong Chee, Yee Fook Weng and James FC Fong (regular players who play at least three times a week, with the exception of James, who plays eight days per week!)
Majulah sukan untuk Malaysian Bar. No ping pong, no life!
