On Friday, the team comprising Bar Councillors Tony Woon (Ngeri Sembilan), Asmadi Awang (Terengganu), Deputy Chair of SRO Enforcement Committee, Ong Siew Wan (Pahang), Committee members Datuk A. Ramanathan (Pahang) and Nicholas Chang (Kuala Lumpur) and executive officer, Emily Lee, spent the whole day sifting through all the relevant documents related to those transactions. The partners of the said firm accorded full cooperation to the visiting team. When contacted, the Chairman of the SRO Enforcement Committee, Roger Tan said: "We have identified several firms in every State where a visit is necessary. In fact, we received the most number of complaints about law firms in Penang and Perak breaching the SRO." "Our next visit will be to either Ipoh or Penang", added Tan. Meanwhile, Justice Wan Afrah bt. Wan Ibrahim of the the Appellate and Special Powers Division will hear lawyer Abdul Razak Bin Hashim's originating summons to declare the Solicitors' Remuneration (Enforcement) Rules 2004 ("SRER") null and void on August 7.
