The monsoon season did not deter Members of the Bar in Terengganu from making their way to the Getting Started! workshop, which was conducted at 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, at Premier Lounge, Permai Hotel, Kuala Terengganu, on 12 Nov 2011 (Saturday). The workshop was attended by 15 enthusiastic Members who had been looking forward to the event.
This time around, the usual five sessions of the Getting Started! workshop were delivered by Shamsuriah bt Sulaiman (“The Business of Legal Practice”), Heron Khalid Goh (“Accounting & Taxation”), Tan Kim Soon (“Conveyancing in a Competitive Climate”), Stanislaus Vethanayagam (“Winning Ways through Civil Litigation”), as well as Salwa bt Mansor and Charles Perera (“Bar Council & You: Obligations and Privileges). The speakers – senior lawyers in the field – shared their experiences and gave sound advice to the participants.
The Getting Started! Workshop, Kuala Terengganu, received positive feedback: 93% of the participants stated that the workshop had met their expectations. The participants also highlighted that they had found the workshop helpful as it had covered all the information required for beginners who wished to set up firms.
