The Nullification of the CLP results by the Qualifying Board

In view of the many comments made regarding the nullification of the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) results by the Qualifying Board, I called for a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Bar Council to discuss the issues involved. The Executive Committee met on 15th November, 2001 and again today, 21st November, 2001.
Notwithstanding the seriousness and nature of the leakage of the examination paper, the Executive Committee decided that representations should be made to the Qualifying Board to re-consider its decision to nullify the Main examinations held in July 2001 and to call for the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry to carry out full investigations. The Executive Committee's decisions will be discussed at a meeting of the full Council on 24th November, 2001.
The 15th November, 2001 decisions of the Executive Committee were made known to the Qualifying Board at its meeting on 19th November, 2001 for its consideration.
