The MOU between the Bar Council of Malaysia and the Law Council of Australia

The Bar Council of Malaysia and the Law Council of Australia will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on strengthening legal exchange and friendly co-operation between the two Bars.
The MOU will seek to enhance the honour of the law and the profession of law and develop and maintain a relationship based on friendship and co-operation. Through exchanges of legal publications, materials and information, as well as visits of lawyers, the two Bars will endeavour to strengthen the bonds which join them as members of the legal profession and promote the development of legal research work throughout the world.
The MOU will recognise the growing importance of trade and other ties between Malaysia and Australia and the vital part played by the law in these relationships and the Bars’ mutual support of the rule of law.
The President of the Law Council of Australia Dr. Gordon Hughes and its Secretary-General Mr Peter Levy will be in Kuala Lumpur soon to sign the Memorandum.
