The Malaysian Bar and HAKAM (National Human Rights Society of Malaysia) will be organising a Human Rights Wake in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.
It will be held on Friday, 11th December 1998 at 7.30 p.m. at the Bar Council’s Auditorium, Loke Yew Building, Jalan Mahkamah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur.
As we have recently witnessed numerous instances of human rights injustices and abuses of the fundamental liberties of our citizens, the Malaysian Bar considers it timely to hold a Wake in place of its previous 'Festival of Rights' that marked Human Rights Day.
