The members of the Practice Management Support Committee had its first meeting on 1st June 2009 at about 4pm to formulate the objectives of the Committee and discuss the proposed action plan for the term.
The Chairman, Mr. Lim Chee Wee explained that the primary reason for the establishment of the Committee was to deal with the practical issues that generally arise in the course of legal practice and deliberate the ways and means in which legal practices may be better managed and run.
The Committee members deliberated and decided that the primary objectives of the Committee would be:-
1. To undertake activities that will assist the members of the Bar to develop their legal practice in Malaysia and overseas.
2. To aid and assist members to improve productivity, efficiency and increase profitability in their legal practice consistent with the ethical values of the legal profession.
The Chairman briefed the Members as to the availability of the Services Sector Capacity Development Fund (SSCDF) and the Committee decided to invite the officials from MIDA to deliver a presentation about SSCDF to the members of the Bar.
