Circular No 276/2011
Dated 23 Nov 2011
To all Members of the Malaysian Bar
The Bar Council National Young Lawyers Committee’s National Working Conditions Survey – Deadline Extended to 30 Dec 2011
We refer to Circular No 225/2011 dated 5 Oct 2011, where we informed Members of the Bar Council National Young Lawyers Committee (“NYLC”)’s National Working Conditions Survey.
The 4th Young Lawyers Convention 2011, which was held on 1 to 3 July 2011 at Malacca, saw the issuance of the Malacca Statement by its delegates.
The Malacca Statement mandated NYLC to conduct a national working conditions survey to review the working conditions of younger Members of the Bar and the remuneration schemes received by them.
NYLC aims to publish the survey’s results, which will indicate ideal working conditions and the preferred remuneration schemes by younger Members of the Bar. It is hoped that the survey’s findings will be translated into better working conditions and remuneration schemes for younger Members of the Bar.
Please find attached the survey form. Kindly fill it in and return it by email to nylcsurvey@gmail.com by 30 Dec 2011 (Friday). Please be informed that although the survey is conducted by NYLC, any Member of the Bar is welcome to participate in it.
For further information, please contact Matthew Winfred by telephone at 03-2050 2097, or by email at matthew@malaysianbar.org.my.
Thank you.
Vince Chong
Deputy Chairperson
