Dear Members of the Bar,

Please be informed that the Civil Division of the Shah Alam High Court will be moving to the MRCB Building at No.2, Jalan Majlis 14/10, Seksyen 14, 40712 Shah Alam effective 01.10.2009.

In order to facilitate the shifting process the Shah Alam High Court has issued 2 notices/ directives on the closure of the Civil Registry and filing counters as well as the set-up and placement of the High Courts at the new MRCB building.

We enclose herewith the said Notices from the Shah Alam High Court as Appendix “A” and Appendix “B”.

Members of the Bar are reminded that: -

	i)	The Civil Registry of the Shah Alam High Courts will be closed from the 14/09/2009 until 30/09/2009;
	ii)	Urgent filing of documents will be accepted from the 14th to the 18th/09/2009. However, members are advised not to file any documents during the period from the 14/09/2009 until 30/09/2009;
	iii)	All Registry and Filing counters will be closed for the 3 days following the Hari Raya Puasa break from the 23rd to the 25th. /09/2009.
	iv)	The filing counter will be operative at the 3rd. Floor of the MRCB Building from 01/10/2009.

We hope members of the Bar will give their full cooperation to adhere to the said Notices to allow the smooth shifting process and allow the Civil Division of the Shah Alam High Court to organize themselves and operate better from their new premises.

We will keep Members informed in due course of the new reorganization of the Criminal Division of the Shah Alam High Courts that will remain at the Shah Alam Court Complex.

Please take note that the Bankruptcy Division of the Shah Alam High Court remains at the Court Complex. However, Appeals to the Judge in Chambers from the Bankruptcy Division will be heard at the Civil Division of the Shah Alam High Court at the MRCB Building.

We have also been informed that due to the reorganization and shifting process the  Shah Alam High Courts are unable to provide the SBC with the cause lists until further notice.

Dear Members of the Bar,

Shifting of the Civil Division of the Shah Alam High Courts to the MRCB Building effective 01.10.2009

We refer to SBC Circular 082/09 dated 11.09.2009 on the Moving of the Civil Division of the Shah Alam High Courts to the MRCB Building effective 01.10.2009.

We have been given the following updates by the Deputy Registrar (Civil Division) Puan Arleen binti Ramly :-

	i)	All cases involving code 31, code 32 and code 38 will remain at the Court Complex.
	ii)	Y.A. Datuk Nurchaya Binti Hj. Arshad (T track) will be sitting at the 6th Floor (MRCB Building).
	iii)	All filing of documents (Civil Division) by post (using postal orders) are to be addressed to the Deputy Registrar at the Court Complex (Attn: Puan Nurmaslina binti Mahadi).
	iv)	All letters (requesting for adjournment, status of case, enquiries and complaints) must be sent/ posted directly to the respective court at the MRCB Building at the following address:-
			Mahkamah Tinggi Shah Alam
			Tingkat 3, Bangunan MRCB
			No. 2, Jalan Majlis 14/10, Seksyen 14
			40000 Shah Alam
			Selangor Darul Ehsan
	v)	All correspondence by fax for civil matters must be faxed to the MRCB Building. The fax no. is : 03- 5510 8679.
	vi)	There will be a plan/ map at the Ground Floor of the MRCB building (close to the lifts) for ease of reference.
