Extension of Deadline for Sijil Annual 2012 Applications to 17 Nov 2011

We refer to Circular No 185/2011 dated 24 Aug 2011, where we asked Members to submit their Sijil Annual 2012 (“SA”) application forms to the Bar Council Secretariat not later than 17 Oct 2011.
Please be informed that the deadline for submission of SA application forms has been extended to 17 Nov 2011 (Thursday).
We wish to inform Members that as at 11 Oct 2011, the Bar Council Secretariat has received a total of 2,713 applications for SA. The number of applications processed is 1,544, of which 1,136 SAs have been issued to Members and 408 applications were found to be not in order.
Members are advised to forward their SA application forms with the relevant supporting documents to the Secretariat as soon as possible so that their Sijil Annual and Practising Certificate 2012 may be issued expeditiously.
Members who have been notified that their SA applications are not in order are advised to regularise their applications on an urgent basis by providing the information or documents requested, to enable the Secretariat to complete the processing of their applications in good time.
As at 10 Oct 2011, 1,888 firms have yet to submit their Professional Indemnity Insurance (“PII”) Proposal Forms to the Scheme Broker, Jardine Lloyd Thompson (“JLT”), in order to obtain their PII Schedules. Members are encouraged to submit their 2012 Proposal Forms online at www.praktis.com.my. Kindly note that confirmation of PII cover is mandatory to process your SA.
