KUALA LUMPUR: The External Liaison Committee (‘ELC’)
headed by Lai Chee Hoe had on the 25.5.2007 organised a social event with the
other professions at Soul’d Out Hartamas. We were lucky enough to get
pharmacists, engineers and company secretary’s involved as well. The event
started at 7.30 pm with the participants teeming in at different times.
The event started off with the members of each profession sitting in their own
circle of friends of the same profession. Gradually, everyone started moving
around the tables interacting amicably with everyone else. Once the ice was
broken, the merry making of the crowd proved to roisterers for the other patrons
of the restaurant inexorably leading them to leaving their seats which, to our
benefit, resulted in more vacant tables.
Amazingly, and to the delight of the young professionals, a few students from
various colleges and universities joined us as well. The young professionals
were only too obliged to give their views of their professions to the students.
The unanimous feedback from the participants of the social event was that the
event was excellent. The food was good, the drinks were better, and the
conversations were the best as one of the participants put it. Many were already
planning and looking forward to the more formal External Liaison Networking
Night in August.
And finally, in the true Malaysian tradition, after a few drinks, and in a state
of slight inebriation, we adjourned to karaoke at 10.30 pm.
