KUALA LUMPUR: 5 January 2007 will be remembered by many as a special day
for young Malaysian professionals. True to the National Young Lawyers Committee
(NYLC)’s spirit to ‘work and play hard’, NYLC members joined other young
professionals right after their 8th meeting for an informal dinner.
Attended by more than 30 young professionals consisting of engineers,
pharmacists and lawyers, the event was an opportunity to promote greater
understanding, closer relationships and networking among the Graduate and
Student Section of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the Malaysian
Pharmaceutical Society (MPS), and the NYLC.
Special care was taken by the IEM and NYLC which had jointly organised the
dinner for the participants to be of a ‘Muhibbah’ (multi-racial) composition.
Everyone enjoyed listening to the introduction of participants about themselves.
There were much laughter, discussions and explanations shared about what one did
in their respective professions.
It is the hope of the NYLC that this event will mark the beginning of better
interaction with other young professionals for mutually beneficial co-operation,
as well as to share views on current issues in future.
Young lawyers are invited to another event ‘Young Professionals’ Nite’ organised
by IEM on 27 January 2007 (Saturday), details of which are as follows:
