BFM 89.9 interview with Lim Chee Wee (12 Jan 2012): Why Anwar Should Be Freed PDF Print E-mail

Malaysian Bar President Lim Chee Wee discusses why Anwar should be acquitted, whether Free Anwar 901 could constitute subjudice, as well as whether the Prime Minister should have been subpoenaed to testify in the trial.

Malaysians should care about the verdict of the trial because every person deserves a fair trial -- something which Anwar did not enjoy since he was charged in August 2008, says Lim Chee Wee. While the second trial was generally considered to be fairer than the first in 1999, Lim says "it doesn't make it [the second trial] right".
