With a host of impressive modern facilities, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is the city's most-advanced purpose built facility for holding all kinds of events.

SITUATED at the heart of Kuala Lumpur's central business district, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is the city's most technologically advanced, purpose-built facility for conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, entertainment events and even intimate private functions.

The centre is one of the components within the Petronas' distinctive Kuala Lumpur City Centre development. Designed as a unique "city within a city," the 40-hectare development offers a stimulating environment where one can work, live, shop, visit and enjoy the distractions of everyday living.

Boasting the latest in wireless, 3G telecommunications and digital audio-visual facilities, the venue comes with a list of impressive features. The spacious Plenary Hall takes up two levels with tiered seating for 3,000. With built-in rear projection facilities and screen, the Plenary Hall also has a fixed stage with fly tower, backstage support facilities and direct lift, escalator and staircase access. To the front of the stage is an Orchestra Pit, which has a motorised floor capable of rising up to create an extended auditorium floor.

Slightly smaller is the Plenary Theatre, with tiered seating for 500, built-in screen and front projection facilities.

Both the Plenary Hall and the Plenary Theatre also cater for multilingual speakers and delegates as technical facilities include simultaneous interpretation for up to seven languages in the former and five languages in the latter.

There is even a delegate voting system built into the arms of all 500 seats in the Plenary Theatre. This sophisticated system is also available at the Plenary Hall's front section, which has 792 seats.

Besides these, four Exhibition Halls take up the ground level in two blocks, joined by a Link Hall totalling 9,710sq metres of column-free space.

The Grand Ballroom accommodates 2,380 delegates theatre-style or 2,000 guests for an elaborate banquet.

A Conference Hall for 1,800 delegates set theatre-style also separates to form three halls, if required.

Boasting barrel-vaulted ceilings and a grand decor is the Banquet Hall, which can seat up to 800 people set theatre-style and 390 in a banquet seating.

In addition, a further 20 meeting rooms are at hand to accommodate anywhere between 50 and 256 delegates.

Other facilities include boardrooms, press rooms, a business centre, bridal suites, dressing rooms, prayer rooms, concierge and luggage rooms rooms, a medical centre, parenting rooms, audio-visual production rooms, organisers' offices and hospitality suites.
