Hari Raya Message from MCA President YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Ting |

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians of multi-racial society should continue to uphold the
true Malaysian spirit as well as adopt a caring and loving approach for the
betterment of the country, said MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.
“We should continue our efforts to maintain a harmonious, progressive and
peaceful society.
“On behalf of the MCA, I wish to take this opportunity to say Selamat Hari Raya
to all Muslims,” he said in his Raya messages.
Ong said Malaysian Muslims had adopted a thoughtful, helpful and caring spirit
in their everyday life.
He said Muslims emphasized on mutual respect and tolerance, which were similar
to the moderate approach stressed by the Chinese community.
“Through the moderate approach and mutual respect, people of different
backgrounds and communities will be able to work together for the benefit of all
Malaysians,” he said.
Ong said the country would able to face the global challenges and hence moving
to greater heights with the effort and support from all Malaysians
“For decades, Malaysians of various communities and religions have celebrated
this joyous occasion together such as attending the open houses organised by
Muslim friends in the country.
“Non-Muslims should continue the tradition as a way to foster a closer
relationship in our multiracial society. We must continue to promote in the
spirit of Muhibbah,” he said.
