(1) There shall be two examinations for articled clerks:
(a) the Articled Clerks Intermediate Examination (which in these Rules is referred to as "the Intermediate Examination"); and
(b) the Articled Clerks Final Examination (which in these Rules is referred to as "the Final Examination").
(2) The Intermediate Examination shall consist of the following papers;
(a) Part I -
(i) Law of Contract;
(ii) Law of Torts;
(iii) Criminal Law; and
(iv) Criminal Procedure.
(b) Part II -
(i) Public Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law;
(ii) Land Law;
(iii) Family Law; and
(iv) Trust Accounts and Book-keeping.
(3) The Final Examination shall consist of the following papers:
(a) Part I -
(i) Equity and Trusts;
(ii) Evidence; and
(iii) Company Law.
(b) Part II -
(i) Conveyance and Laws relating to Landlord and Tenant;
(ii) Commercial Transactions;
(iii) Civil Procedure; and
(iv) either Revenue Law or Labour Law or Banking and Negotiable Instruments or Islamic Law.
(4) The syllabus and reading list for the examinations shall be those prescribed from time to time by the University of Malaya for the examinations for the Degree of Bachelor of Laws.
