PUTRAJAYA: Lawyer Datuk V.K Lingam had the media in a frenzy when he turned up at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in the federal administrative capital here on Friday.

He was seen entering the building located at Parcel D at around 11.50am.

Reporters who were there to cover a press conference by PKR after the opposition party had lodged reports on power abuse and corruption, were surprised to see Lingam there.

An hour later, the lawyer -- who had gained media and public attention following the release of a video clip of him allegedly brokering the appointment of judges -- came out of the MACC office and was swarmed by reporters and cameramen.

When asked the purpose of his visit, Lingam said that he had come to request the release of some documents.

“These are documents that I previously gave to the Anti-Corruption Agency. They are looking to arrange for the documents to be released and be given back to me,” he said.

Lingam however declined to reveal if the documents were related to the video clip incident or the officer whom he had met in the commission.

“I don’t think I have to go into the details,” he said.
