SUBANG: The remains of BernamaTV cameraman Noramfaizul Mohd Nor arrived at the Subang RMAF base on Sunday morning.
The C-130 aircraft, which was also carrying the other members of the Putera 1Malaysia Club's humanitarian aid mission for Somali famine victims, touched down at the base about 10.10am.
The atmosphere at the base was sombre as Noramfaizul's body was received by family members, who had been waiting since 7am.
Also there were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman, Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Noramfaizul's coffin, which was draped with a Jalur Gemilang, was later taken to the mosque at the Air Force base for prayers before being taken to his family home in Taman Serdang Raya.
Noramfaizul, 39, who was killed after being hit by a stray bullet on Friday night while travelling in a truck to Mogadishu's commercial centre to send visuals, will be buried at the Universiti Putra Malaysia Muslim cemetery in Serdang after Zohor prayers on Sunday.
