KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Rakyat coalition members have lodged a police report against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi over a news article quoting him as saying that the appointment of Kijal assemblyman Datuk Ahmad Said as the Terengganu Mentri Besar was against the Federal Constitution.

PKR Youth head Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and Negri Sembilan DAP chairman Anthony Loke Siew Fook led a group of Pakatan members to the Dang Wangi district police station at 4pm yesterday to lodge the report.

Shamsul Iskandar said that by making the statement Abdullah had openly opposed Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin on his decision to appoint Ahmad rather than Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.

“We urge the police to investigate our report the same way as they are doing with Karpal Singh,” he said.
