IPOH: It was a scary moment for Barisan Nasional supporters when incumbent Kuala
Kangsar MP Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz left one of her forms unsigned during
nomination.
Kuala Kangsar returning officer Datuk Mohd Ghazali Jalal said the issue cropped
up when an agent for PAS candidate, Dr Khairudin Abd Malik, noticed that Rafidah
failed to sign one of the nomination forms.
“She signed on the forms that she submitted to me but she forgot to sign the
form that was put on display during objection period,” he said on nomination day
Sunday.
Mohd Ghazali said the matter was resolved after a check with the Elections
Commission that decided it was just a “technicality issue”.
“The objection was therefore rejected,” he said, adding that nomination for
Kuala Kangsar constituency was announced at 11.50am.
Dr Khairudin is facing Rafidah in a straight fight for the parliamentary seat
which the incumbent is contesting for the seventh term this round.
