KULAI: The MCA will not give up fighting for the rights of the community and serving the people and country despite the outcome of the general election, party president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said.

Ong said the party accepted and respected the decision of the people and would carry out a post mortem.

“This is a national trend and the result shows that people have dissatisfaction.

“I will discuss with the party leadership on the next course of action for the benefit of multi cultural Malaysians, he said after the result of the Kulai parliamentary seat was announced at the Dewan Raya Bandar Putra here yesterday.

“We will continue to serve the community with perseverance and sincerity,” he said.

Ong called on MCA candidates who lost in the election to persevere, saying that those who had been working hard with good track record should continue serving the community.

Ong, who polled 32,017 votes, won the Kulai seat with an 11,744 majority. His opponent, Ng Pack Siong from DAP, obtained 20,273 votes.

Kulai is a Chinese-majority seat with 59.1% voters from the community. Malays make up 30.9% and Indians 9.8%.

Ong thanked the Kulai voters for their support.

“We will set up a team to serve the people here from all the communities and bring more development to the areas.

“Although we lost the Senai state seat, we will continue to serve the area as a team,” Ong said.

Rectifications of the Wrongs

MCA may have renewed intentions now but the cultivation of the intended 'perseverance and sincerity ', which, working together with 'justice and fairness' should also come from Umno and no other lesser party, even the Mca, acting on its own.

This is because the supreme and controlling power within the 'BARIS' is Umno and non others. Otherwise, the 'AMARAN' and 'Kris' Wielding will come from Umno again - to warn the Mca.

The question now is "What will Umno do for the Marginalised Malaysian Citizens?"; and how will Umno hear their voices and reinstate their rights ?????? The answers are pertinent - if their votes, and the votes of the other fair-thinking Malaysians mean anything to Umno.
