Puan Sri Tessie Lim (left) and her husband Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing have been living apart since March last year KUALA LUMPUR:
Businessman Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has agreed to pay RM11.65 million as part-settlement for his divorce and alimony to his wife of 21 years.

This was among the deals Lim made with his wife, Puan Sri Tessie Lim Kok Wing, better known as Tessie Louise Weller.

It is learnt that the detailed divorce settlement was much more than the cash amount. It also involved properties and cars.

Yesterday, High Court Judicial Commissioner Datuk Aziah Ali allowed their joint petition for divorce in her chambers.

Aziah also gave three months for the divorce to become final.

Both Lim, 61, and Tessie, 44, were present at the proceedings.

The couple registered their marriage in Petaling Jaya on Nov 18, 1986. They have a 25-year-old son, Lim Kok Wing Junior, and a 20-year-old daughter, Tiffany Mary Lim.

Lim and Tessie filed the joint petition on Dec 11 last year. It is learnt the couple have been living apart since March last year. Both stated irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce.

Lim was represented by the firm of Gideon Tan Razali Zaini, and his wife by counsel David Hoh.

Lim is president of the Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology in Cyberjaya.

The institution is the largest creative-driven university in Asia, and the only one of its kind offering a unique brand of innovative education.

Lim was also a designer for the Malaysian sports jersey.
