GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has given his predecessor Tan Sri Dr
Koh Tsu Koon a clean bill of health in the land scam issue but he wonders why no
action was taken against the culprits.
He said Dr Koh should have stopped the “fishy” land deals then.
“We are not blaming Dr Koh. But what we want is his assistance to shed some
light on the whole issue. We need to know how many cases there are,” he said at
a dinner to mark Wah San Soo Temple's 50th anniversary yesterday.
Lim said Dr Koh’s comment that his administration had a “near perfect” record
except for some “botched” cases was unacceptable.
“Such a statement is irresponsible. If four or five cases accounted for more
than RM100mil, I dread to think of the figure which could swell up to billions
if more cases were unveiled,” he said.
In their recent debate, Dr Koh said his administration had solved “more than
99.9%” in land matters during his 15 years as the chief minister.
