SINGAPORE, July 23 (Bernama) -- The arrest of Bosnian Serb wartime president, Radovan Karadzic, will be a good news for those who have been waiting for justice to be rendered, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said Wednesday.

"Those who had been known and proven to be involved in crime against humanity should face the music; it is up to the world court to determine that.

"Whether the crime had in fact took place, (it is) to be substantiated by evidence required under the universal system of justice," he told reporters on the sidelines of the 41st Asean Ministerial Meeting (AMM) here.

Rais is leading the Malaysian delegation at the AMM and its related meetings from July 20 to 24.

Karadzic, indicted for genocide in the Bosnian war, was captured near Belgrade on Tuesday after 11 years on the run from the United Nations war crimes tribunal.

Reports said he had been working in a medical clinic using a false name and a changed appearance, with a thick beard and white hair to hide his identity.
