KUALA LUMPUR: Imam Ramlang Porigi, who witnessed Mohd Saiful
Bukhari Azlan’s swearing at the Federal Territory Mosque on Aug 15, has been
transferred to the administration and finance department of the Malaysian
Islamic Development Department (Jakim).
It is learnt that Ramlang was being investigated for giving out information
related to the ceremony without permission from his superiors.
Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) director Datuk Che Mat Che
Ali said they would submit a report soon to Jakim, which would then decide
whether action should be taken against the junior religious leader.
“Jakim will issue a show-cause letter to Ramlang. After that, he has two weeks
to give a reason for his actions and why he should not be charged,” Che Mat said
yesterday.
Ramlang, 29, was among four imams who witnessed Saiful swearing on the Quran
that he (Saiful) was sodomised by PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Just before the Aug 26 Permatang Pauh by-election, Ramlang appeared at Anwar’s
ceramahs in Permatang Pauh and said that the sumpah (swearing) by Saiful was not
valid.
Ramlang also said that he had only followed orders by his superiors to witness
Saiful’s swearing and that there were discrepancies in the swearing ceremony.
The imam’s letter of transfer on Tuesday was signed by administration and
finance department director Abd Murat Abd Wahab.

"Ramlang was being investigated for giving out information related to the ceremony without permission from his superiors."
This is the kind of things that turn the people against the present Government.
Their focus is not on whether or not the information given is true or accurate (for if it is not, an immediate rebuttal would and should have come).
Their focus is that the information was given out without permission. Never mind whether it is true or not.
The Rakyat is far more interested in the truth (to which they are of course entitled), and not in whether some truth-suppressing secrecy rule has or has not been breached.
Carry on this way, if you have not learned.
