PETALING JAYA, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- A hale and hearty Inspector-General of Police
Tan Sri Musa Hassan today dismissed as "false and malicious" a report in a party
organ claiming he is paralysed and in critical condition following coronary
bypass surgery on Aug 19.
"I read the report in the newspaper which claimed that I am paralysed and in
critical condition. I am disappointed with the report. The news is false and
malicious, and disseminated by certain people who want to destroy me," he told
reporters at his home here.
Musa, who walked about unaided but slowly, said the report in the Sept 4-11 2008
edition of Suara Keadilan was probably intended to mislead the people who wanted
to know of his health.
He was discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Aug 25 following
the surgery and is on medical leave for 49 days. He is scheduled to return to
work next month.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), my health is improving fast," he said,
showing the healing wounds of the surgery.
Musa conveyed his thanks to the doctors and other staff at IJN as well as the
people who had prayed for his good health.
Asked whether he intended to take legal action over the publication of the
report, he said his siblings had discussed the matter with him but he left it to
them to make a decision.
