KUALA LUMPUR: Retired Court of Appeal judge Datuk Arifin Jaka passed away at the Serdang Hospital Thursday morning. He was 78.
Arifin died apparently from complications due to diabetes at 6.05am.
The Corporate Communications and International Relations Division of the Federal Court confirmed the death of the retired judge.
Arifin leaves wife Datin Maznah, two sons and a daughter.
Arifin was the High Court judge who heard the case against former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his adopted brother Sukma Darmawan Sasmitaat Madja for allegedly sodomising Anwar's family driver Azizan Abu Bakar in 1999.
