KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here yesterday dismissed a leave application by Teoh Beng Hock's brother who wanted a review of the Royal Commission of Inquiry's (RCI) findings into Teoh's death.
Yesterday, lawyer Gobind Singh Deo, for Teoh Meng Kee and senior federal counsel Shamsul Bolhassan met judge Datuk Rohana Yusuf in chambers.
Gobind told reporters that the judge dismissed the judicial review application as the High Court was bound by the decision of the Federal Court on the controversial V.K. Lingam video clip about three weeks ago.
In the landmark ruling, the highest court ruled that the findings of a commission of inquiry appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong cannot be challenged in court.
Teoh was found dead on the fifth floor of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009, a day after he was taken by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers to their headquarters in the same building for questioning.
After an inquest into his death returned an 'open verdict', an RCI was set up to look into the circumstances leading to Teoh's death.
