KUALA LUMPUR: Seven members of the Bersih 4 rally organising committee have been summoned by the police to have their statements recorded at the Bukit Aman federal headquarters today.
They are the Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah, deputy chairman Sarajun Hoda Abdul Hassan, treasurer Masjaliza Hamzah, Farhana Abdul Halim, Fadiah Nadwa Fikri and activist Adam Adli Abdul Halim.
They are expected to be questioned at 10.30am
In another development, the woman who was detained for allegedly releasing yellow balloons from the upper floors of the Pavilion Mall during an event attended by the Prime Minister and his wife, has been released on police bail.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad confirmed the woman’s release yesterday.
The case was being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
In Monday’s incident, the woman was detained by auxiliary policemen on suspicion of releasing the balloons during an event attended by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
She was handed over to the Dang Wangi police headquarters. The woman is said to have released yellow balloons while Najib was on the ground floor during the launch of the DiverseCity 2015 Kuala Lumpur International Arts Festival.
