KLANG: A traffic policeman has been remanded for a week in the case of Kpl Mustaghni Tabri who died on Friday after sustaining injuries during a Mat Rempit operation.

He was believed to have thrown an object which accidentally struck Mustaghni’s head during the operation at Kampung Raja Uda on June 3.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Mat Yusop said the suspect, a 51-year-old corporal, had been remanded until June 14 to assist in investigations.

Four other policemen who were earlier detained have been released after investigations revealed the possibility that Mustaghni might have been hit by an object thrown by his colleage.

ACP Mohamad said six men, aged between 16 and 22, who were detained and released on bail on Thursday, would not be called up again.

The death of Mustaghni has been classified as murder.

Mustaghni who was severely hurt in the head died on Friday after being in a coma for six days.
