KOTA TINGGI, March 1 (Bernama) -- Pengerang Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said described the claim that she paid RM1 million to buy over Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Norazan Abdullah as absurd and slanderous.

"He (Norazan) did not want to contest, so it was not my fault. The opposition claimed that I bought over the candidate. It was all a lie, a slander. Such a large amount should be spent on development," the Youth and Sports Minister said when opening the Pengerang parliamentary constituency sports carnival at Felda Semenchu here today.

Azalina was returned unopposed to the Pengerang seat on nomination day (Feb 24) for the second term, after the PKR candidate failed to submit the nomination papers within the time allowed by the Election Commission.

However, two state seats under Pengerang will see straight fights between BN and PAS for Penawar and BN and PKR for Tanjung Surat.

Azalina called on the young generation to evaluate the success of the BN government and urged them not to support the opposition just because their parents were party members.

"Don't follow blindly. They should not become an opposition generation just because their fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters are opposition party members," she said.

This was what she observed when campaigning in opposition party strongholds in the north, she added.

Change of mind?

Yeah, he changed his mind at the 11th hour when deposits were already paid to the EC the day earlier.

What reasons could that be? He could not find his balls or something else changed his mind?

Let you guess.

BLAME THE PAYEE
written by Nik Elin Zurina Bt Nik Abdul Rashid, Sunday, March 02 2008 02:13 pm

If he was indeed paid off, IF HE WAS...then why blame the payer... why don't you blame the payee who accepted the bribe? If he did indeed take the bribe, luckily he could be spotted and could be bribed now, rather than when he is in power. See... and we think only BN people are corrupted...
