KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji has reminded Muslims to be wary of a scam by the so-called Entrepreneurs Provident Fund which purportedly offers haj policies.

Tabung Haji Group public affairs and corporate communication general manager Abdul Rashid Hussein said the fictitious organisation had distributed pamphlets in Banting, Selangor, claiming that it would offer a more systematic haj saving.

"The 'Polisi Tabung Amanah Haji' pamphlets distributed by the body is a scam to hoodwink the people and fleece unsuspecting people as an easy way to make money," he said in a statement on Saturday.

He said Tabung Haji was the sole agency appointed by the government to offer haj services and the deposit was guaranteed by the government.

"Tabung Haji has a good track record in managing the deposit and keep in steps with the technological development," he said.

Abdul Rashid said initial saving with Tabung Haji was RM10 for adults and and RM2 for children.
