Zaleha should note that Air Asia is a budget airline - so buying more cloth would mean the cost of this will be factored to the pass angers - as a frequent flyer on Air Asia - I prefer to travel cheap and don't really mind the view - Also if knee length skirts can be classed as an embarrassment then somebody please tell me how the tight uniforms revealing curves i.e. the Kebaya worn by the MAS cabin crew does reflect Eastern and Islamic Values?

What is embarrassing is for a woman to have such a mindset and view.

The mere suggestion for the government to compel a private body to change their dress code to suit her and some quarters' preference is absurd.

There is nothing offensive at all about Air Asia's cabin crew uniform.

At the end of the day, it is about freedom to choose isn't it?

Air Asia can choose what style and type of uniform their staff should wear.

The cabin crew can choose whether to wear the said uniform i.e. if they don't like the uniform, find another profession with a dress code they like.

Most importantly, people who are not comfortable with being in an aircraft with crew dressed in their uniform, can fly on another airline.

Seriously, what is Malaysia coming to?

I wouldn't be surprised if we get more silly comments like women passengers must be seated on one side of the plane and men on the other side. Or female crew can only serve female passengers.

A good point raised by Jeffrey John there, i.e. although some make a fuss about seeing too much skin, even of an person's arm, they are have no complaints about seeing too much curves and a person wearing skin tight outfits.

Please grow up and let others decide for themselves what they should wear. Do not impose and impart moral judgements and drastic conservative thinking on the Malaysians and the Malaysian women of tomorrow.

Why is the speaker for Kubang Krian so uptight about the cabin crew's uniform? It is the compant policy and further it's not a government backed airliner and one should give the management a free hand to decide. Haven't the speaker seen the Middle Eastern airline cabin crew, they too have similar uniform and further coming from orthodox Islamic region and they haven't kicked a big fuss about it. Look also at the top no-frills airliner Ryan-Air they too have similar uniform and they are going places and similarly this no-frills airliner too is going places. Looks like the speaker seems to have run out of issues to be presented thus embarking on this useless and baseless topics for cheap publicity. :-

Some politicians and political leaders are continuously misusing the political arena - so as to speak and bring up issues unnecessarily so as to wield and usurp power - even to the extent of being desirous of controlling all aspects of development in the country.

It is time for all such self- proclaiming and self-championing leaders to be assessing themselves and be reminded to with-hold and control their personal desires, their personal likes and dislikes so as to allow other Malaysian citizens to look forward and work towards WAWASAN 2020 - unless this 'wawasan' is now dead and forgotten.

Air Asia stewardesses should not be unnecesarrily constrained by any unnecessary further cover-ups which would make them inefficient , lethargic, and unappealing, if they have to make a profit margin for their company.
