KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM)Commission Thursday announced the transfers as well as promotions of 11 senior police officers effective when they report for duty.

According to a statement by the commission, Deputy Director of the Federal Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) (Disposal of Property/Legislation/Detention) SAC I Datuk Othman Harun has been appointed as the Deputy Director of the NCID Department (Intelligence/Operations) with the rank of DCP.

Deputy Director II (Operations) of Internal Security and Public Order Department SAC I Datuk Jamaludin Khalid will hold the post of Chief of Staff of the General Operations Force/International Airports Security with the same rank.

Traffic Chief of the Internal Security and Public Order Department SAC II Datuk Hamza Taib is appointed as Sarawak Police Commissioner with the rank of SAC I.

Chief Assistant Director of the Federal CID's Anti-Vice and Crime Prevention (D7B) (Detention) SAC II Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof will be the CID's Deputy Director (D1) (Planning/Strategy) with the rank of SAC I.

Federal PDRM Secretary SAC II Datuk Azian Yahya is promoted to SAC I in the same post.

Six officers with the rank of ACP have been promoted to SAC II.

They are Pahang district police headquarters (IPK) management department chief Hasnan Hassan who becomes Selangor IPK CID chief, Kuala Lumpur IPK management department head Zakaria Yusof, assistant head of the Inspector-General's secretariat Razali Ab. Razak and chief assistant director (legislation/inspectorate) of the federal commercial crime investigation department Tan Kok Liang has been appointed Sabah IPK head of management department.

Also promoted is Sentul police district chief ACP Ahmad Sofian Md Yassin who is appointed as chief assistant director (D7B) (detention) of the federal police with the rank of SAC II and Melaka IPK CID chief Zainal Abidin Kasim who is appointed Sabah IPK CID chief with the rank of SAC II.
